This was my first internet firearm purchase. I was a little aprehensive about it. TGSCom has some mixed reviews on-line, but indeed offered the best price, so I placed my order hoping for the best. I'm here to tell you that TGScom was fantastic. The item was received at my FFL one week after the order was placed, which was just as I expected. Their Customer service was great, their communication was great. My first impression with TGScom was outstanding. i have since placed another order, and look forward to doing more business with them. Fine service and the best prices you're going to find on the net. Thanks you TGScom, very pleased customer.
Now for the GSG-5. Overall I am very pleased with this rifle. I did think, like most people, that the $500 range for a .22 plinker was a little much. But if you consider that a decent Ruger 10/22 will run in the range of $250+, and then if you want it to look really cool (like the "Krinker Plinker") you're going to put another $200+ into it. That puts you right in the price range of the GSG-5. Looks wise the rifle is hot. I was not very impressed with the Titanium finish, which is the only reason I can't give the rifle 5 stars. i had expected more of a powder coat finish look, much like you get on a "black" rifle. this finish looks more like hardware store spray paint, and is not applied as well as one would expect. Having said that, the rest of the rifle looks great.
I am impressed with it's weight and balance. It is comfortable to hold, and shoulder. The stock is a plastic, and seemingly a little flimsy, as is the safety lever. I will most likely look into a different stock in time. The rear sight barrel is a little loose fitting and did require some adjustment.
Once it was adjusted though, the rifle was very accurate, and A LOT of fun to shoot. I ran a few hundred rounds through it flawlessly. I can't wait to get back out to the range with it soon.
If you can justify the price tag, enjoy shooting for the wholl day for less than $20, and want to turn a head or two in the process, this is the rifle for you.
