This rifle feed, fired and extracted without any problems on cheap Federal blue box ,wolf, cci and pmc ammo ,It grouped better with standard velocity than with high and the wolf and cci were making a nice knot hole at 25 yds with a rest and 7 power scope ,most 3 shots were clover leaf size and 5 shot groups were all touching .
The trigger while not heavy has a lot of take-up and little or no feel before it goes bang .
Problems
The early model sigs have a guide rail and e-clip system that will fail ,if your sig522 has the guide rail with the taper it will come apart ,usually while cleaning .The upgraded bolt has no taper and so far hasn''t failed .
Sig customer service was top notch in my opinion ,but expect to be on hold for a long time .They will send you the upgrade parts or you can return bolt for them to repair .
Overall Its a big hit at the range and just a cool gun to shoot .

Best .22 I''ve ever owned!

After researching, closely examining and firing the Colt, S&W M&P22 and Sig 522, I decided on the Sig and found one for $399 on GunBroker ]$424 in my hands[. I sold a tactical Ruger 10/22 ]full AR style build-up using Nordic Components, YHM RIS, Hogue grip, etc.[. It had also been fully match modified with a bull barrel and 2.5 lb. trigger that broke like a glass rod. Big problem - despite being INCREDIBLY accurate, it was incredibly finnicky about ammo. Many, many FTF''s and FTE''s. But I digress... the Sig 522, on the other hand, is the most reliable .22 I''ve ever owned. I''ve shot over 3,000 rounds of Federal Bulk from Walmart with 2 FTF''s. After rotating the bad rounds 180 degrees and rechambering, both fired and ejected fine. I still can''t believe how incredibly reliable, reasonably accurate and just down right, stinkin'' FUN the 522 is. I have a Rock River Entry Tactical 556/223 with the quad rail on the front and I specifically chose the classic version of the Sig 522 over the SWAT version because it has the ergonomically comfortable polymer forend. It can mount small rails if you want to put a light, laser or vertical grip on it, but for a plinker/fun .22 the standard forend is what I prefer. It is also the easiest to clean rifle I''ve ever owned. Take down pins just like an AR, bolt and captured spring/buffer design is very simple and comes right out ]BTW - I have the older style bolt and have had 0 problems with e-clips breaking[, barrel is super easy to clean and trigger group is fully exposed in the lower for easy cleaning as well. I''ve got several black 25 rnd. Black Dog mags for it and one 15 round mag for bench shooting. It is, IMHO, the best of the current crop of tactical .22''s on the market. Is it perfect... no. Are it''s shortcomings totally blown away by it''s positive features... YES. Sorry, I''m going to go dump another brick of cheap ammo and leave the range with a huge smile.

SIG R52216BC 522 22LR SEMI RIFLE

This Rifle is exceptional. I bought 5 extra mags and took it out with some cheap federal .22lr. I shoot around 300 rounds. The ammo had all sorts of issues but the rifle had none. This rife was a lot of fun to shoot. The most fun .22 I have ever shoot and I have shoot my fair share. Just another example of how you can not go wrong with a Sig.
